A Day of Unity and Purpose
June marks the pinnacle of our school calendar — the annual charity day. This event serves as a rallying point for pupils, teachers, and staff, uniting us with a shared goal: contributing to a better world. Additionally, our observance of World Water Day underscores our commitment to global issues and sustainable practices.
Championing AgeUK, and United World Schools
Our unwavering dedication to the causes of AgeUK, United World Schools, and global water access reflects the values that define our school. United World Schools strives to bring education to remote and marginalised communities, offering children a pathway to brighter futures. AgeUK focuses on supporting the wellbeing of our elderly community members, ensuring they lead lives filled with dignity and care. Simultaneously, our commitment to World Water Day emphasises the importance of access to clean water for communities worldwide.
Fun Infused with Fundraising
June's charity day is a delightful blend of fun and purpose. Laughter echoed across the school grounds as pupils engage in various activities aimed at raising funds for our chosen causes.
Pupil leadership is on full display as Year 11 pupils and Year 10 Prefects take charge of various stalls. From 'Hit the Target with a Water Gun' to face painting, the 'Higher or Lower Card Game', and 'Hoop the Loop', the activities are a testament to the creativity and energy of our pupil body.
Year 11 Enrichment Programme: Nurturing Responsible Community links
Our commitment to holistic education is evident in the Year 11 Enrichment Programme, designed to instil a sense of responsibility and community engagement in our pupils.
Year 11 pupils actively participate in local initiatives, including engaging with primary schools, assisting in libraries, and contributing to environmental wellbeing through litter picking. These experiences go beyond traditional classroom learning, providing pupils with practical insights into community involvement.
Age UK Digital Learning: Bridging Generations Through Technology
In our ongoing commitment to supporting older people in our community, our pupils actively engage with AgeUK's Digital Learning initiative.
Recognising the importance of technology in the modern world, our pupils support older community members by assisting them in navigating the digital landscape. This initiative not only bridges the generational gap but also provides valuable companionship and support.
Through our charities and community links, we aim to make a meaningful difference both for the pupils who understand how their actions can make a positive impact, and for the recipients of our efforts who benefit from our pupils’ input.
