Our School Values
1. Commitment
Pupils are expected to show commitment in all aspects of their time at the school. They strive to achieve improvement in their studies, taking pleasure in preparing for each lesson and having another go if the first attempt does not match their expectation. They are team players and show up for every training and match; they take each co-curricular activity seriously and are regular attendees of the clubs they belong to.
2. Compassion
Pupils are compassionate members of the community. They strive to make all feel welcomed, especially those who arrive mid-year. They look out for others and notice when their fellow pupils are in need of help, offering their friendship and kindness.
3. Curiosity
Pupils develop curious minds while at Mill Hill International. They are excited by learning and see opportunities to further develop what they have learnt. They are curious about the world they live in and especially the multicultural environment at our school. They are eager to find out more about each other, learn from their differences and marvel at their similarities.
4. Communication
Improving written and spoken communication is at the heart of what we do at Mill Hill International. Pupils learn to hone their craft in every lesson and are encouraged to develop their public communication skills through presentations in class, in assemblies and in Chapel and by taking the English Speaking Board examinations.
5. Creativity
How creative we are is shown in all aspects of learning, from Mathematics to Design and Technology. Our pupils’ creative minds love to engage in seeking imaginative ideas for studies and activities. We applaud our pupils for cultivating new interests that inspire creative growth.
6. Courage
The majority of pupils at Mill Hill International have already shown great courage in travelling across the world, leaving friends and family behind to start a new life as they pursue their educational journey in the UK. They develop resilience and independence at school and in boarding, becoming proud ambassadors of the school and its community. They are committed to upholding the values of our school and are not afraid to speak their minds.
It is through the application of these habits of mind that we recognise and reward the positive behaviour of our pupils.
