Mill Hill International Admissions

Whilst focusing on academic development, we make sure that each pupil can exploit their talents so that their stay is both enriching and rewarding. Pupils come to Mill Hill International from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, but they all share our commitment to study, a strong sense of purpose, and high expectations, creating a dynamic learning environment where every pupil can achieve.

Our entry points are:

  • Year 9 (13–14 year olds)
  • Year 10 two-year GCSE programme (14–15 year olds)
  • Year 11 one-year GCSE programme (15–17 year olds)
  • Year 12 (Sixth Form) two-year A Level programme (16-18 year olds)

Enquiry and Availability Check

The first step is to confirm availability and suitability with our team. Please contact the team via email on international@millhill.org.uk and provide the following information:

  • Day or Boarding: (Please note, if the school is required to sponsor the visa, we will only consider a Full Boarding application)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Two latest school reports (translated into English)
  • Passport copy
  • Those currently studying in the UK will be required to provide a contact at applicant’s current school to obtain a pastoral reference (at a time agreed with family, prior to a formal offer).

Applicants may have a preference of school/course, and our team will advise initial suitability before recommending the relevant registration route.

Registration

Click on the button below to register your child/client and to pay our £200 (non-refundable) registration deposit.

The registration fee payment must be made through our online payment portal Flywire which provides you with an easy and secure way to make payments. To make the payment, please use the relevant links provided on the registration pages. Please note, the registration fee is non-refundable but will cover the application if it is referred between the schools.

There is no deadline for applications. However, numbers are restricted by boarding and availability.

Once processed, our team will make contact to arrange entrance assessments that must be completed under independent supervision.

Entrance Assessment Testing

  • Online Oxford Placement Test (OPT) testing Use of English and Listening skills
  • Written English assignment(s)
  • CAT 4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) – an assessment that is designed to understand what students’ academic potential might be. Tasks involve non-verbal reasoning, verbal reasoning, quantitative and spatial ability
  • A Level applicants may be required to provide subject specific information (eg. Art – portfolio of work)

Upon completion, our team will review the results and either progress the application to the next stage or refer to one of the other schools, if deemed more suitable. There will not be a requirement to re-sit/complete any additional assessments.

Interview

All applicants will Interview with the Head of Mill Hill International.

All interviews can take place remotely upon request (via Zoom or Teams).

If, after interview, the team believe that another option is more suitable, we will refer the application to the relevant school at which stage another interview will then take place.

Decision/Recommendation

All successful applicants will be notified with an official offer.

Those who are referred to a more suitable entry point/course will be given that option – they will have to interview accordingly.

Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by one of our team.
