Tell us about yourself...
My name is Aixuan W, I am 16 years old, from China. I am right now studying One-Year IGCSE Course, I'm taking Biology, Chemistry and Art. Beyond academics, I also have a keen interest in sports, with Badminton being the activity I've pursued consistently since the age of 7. Additionally, I enjoy knitting and crochet during my spare times.
Have you ever taken on a leadership role in school, and what did you learn from that experience?
Yes, I had this experience while I was in China. Currently I am a Prefect, this leadership role taught me the importance to put yourself in the other's shoes and resolve the issue. I also improve my communication and teamwork skills.
Are you involved in any school clubs or societies? What do you enjoy most about them?
I am in the Badminton Team. I attend Art club, and Badminton club during Friday lunch time. These activities allow me to express myself, practice new skills and work with the team (especially Badminton club). It makes me more confident and allows me to expand into areas beyond textbook knowledge.
What is your favourite subject?
To be honest, I really enjoy all the subjects I have chosen. Although I find Chemistry is quite challenging at the beginning, but with the As I studied more deeply, I discovered its mysteries and developed greater interest. With its connection to Biology, I realised the wonder and significance of Science.
Who is someone you look up to, and what do you admire about them?
My grandma. She is very eager to learn and brave in trying new things. In recent years, she has studied Calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, and piano, and she really enjoys participating in Community Choir activities. My grandmother is a person with an exceptionally positive attitude toward life, her love for what she does, and her spirit of continuous dedication are qualities I truly want to learn from. She let me know it is never too late to start, life has infinite possibilities, and everyone has infinite potential.
If you could give one piece of advice to younger pupils in school, what would it be?
Bravely be yourself, and love yourself. Never be afraid to ask others for help when you need it, you are never alone. And what is more important is, always have courage and be kind to others.
