Tutor Group Assembly
We were pleased to see Year 12 students from Mr Bethala’s Tutor group lead an assembly exploring the idea of the different “masks” we all wear in our daily lives. The assembly began with Arata K (Oak), who explained that it is natural for people to behave differently depending on their surroundings. He reminded pupils that this is not about being dishonest, but about adapting to different situations to feel comfortable or avoid conflict.
Tuan N (Collinson) then encouraged pupils to reflect on when they feel most like themselves, and when they might change their behaviour due to pressure or fear of judgement. Following this, Terry H (Collinson) explained how social media can add to this pressure by presenting only the positive highlights of people’s lives rather than the full reality.
Tiffanie C (Oak) reminded everyone that while wearing masks can be part of life, it is essential that young people have safe spaces where they feel able to be themselves. The assembly concluded with Marcus Z (Burton Bank), who reinforced the importance of self‑awareness and explained how being true to oneself can help build healthier and more meaningful relationships.
