Outline of the Programme

Age Range: 15–17

Entry requirements: A2-B1 level (IELTS 3.0 – 4.0); regular school attendance for at least 9 years

Our Pre-A Level course is designed for pupils who need to improve their English before progressing to A Level study. This intensive programme builds language skills and academic foundations, ensuring students are fully prepared for success.

The programme:

  1. Introduces pupils to the UK education system preparing them for further and higher education.
  2. Improves subject knowledge and academic skills in preparation for A-Level study.
  3. Develops English fluency across all four skills. Develops grammar and vocabulary.
  4. Improves personal and academic confidence, collaborative skills and independence.

    15 hours per week of English lessons with experienced teachers, aiming for B2 level (CEFR) to meet A-Level entry requirements.

    Students select one Pathway and take six non-exam classes a week from within this Pathway programme:
    • Science Pathway – lesson divided equally between Physics, Biology and Chemistry
    • Art Pathway – practical and theory lessons in Art and Photography
    • Humanities Pathway – lessons divided equally between History and Geography
    • Business Technology Pathway – lessons divided equally between Computer Science, Business Studies and Economics

These courses are designed to be academically rigorous, providing pupils with a smooth transition into Sixth Form. There is a focus on developing vocabulary and academic skills in addition to GCSE-level content which will ensure that pupils are ready for the next stage of their education.
