- Meet David E

For this week’s Meet the Pupil, we’re excited to introduce David E in Oak House, who has taken on multiple leadership roles whilst at Mill Hill International.
We caught up with David to hear about his time at Mill Hill International and his leadership responsibilities.
Tell us about yourself…
Hi, my name is David, I am 15 and from Lagos, Nigeria. I have been in the UK for almost 3 years now. My hobbies are playing Sports and Brawl Stars with friends and watching Anime.
Have you ever taken on a leadership role in school, and what did you learn from that experience?
Yes, in Year 9 and 10 I was in the Student Council. In the Summer term last year, I was selected to be a Prefect. Currently, in Year 11, I am a Student Council member, Peer Mentor and a Sports Ambassador. I have learnt that leadership roles in Mill Hill International do allow you to have a say in how thing work. Although, some changes are out of reach (Meat free Monday), you can still help make changes to things that happen around your peers.
Are you involved in any school clubs or societies? What do you enjoy most about them?
I was part a party of the Under 16A Rugby Team in Mill Hill School, I am a member of the Mill Hill International Football League, Volleyball and Cookery clubs. I also play in Basketball and Athletics at Mill Hill School.
What is your favourite subject?
My favourite Subject would be Design and Technology as it really stands out from the rest of my lessons.
Who is someone you look up to, and what do you admire about them?
Monkey D Luffy as he is a warrior of Liberation and does what he wants and makes people smile.
If you could give one piece of advice to younger pupils in school, what would it be?
One piece of advice I would give to the younger pupil is in:
Year9: ‘Enjoy it while it lasts.’
Year 10: ‘Study now. Play later’ and ‘Go with the flow, life is only difficult if you make it that way’. If things get tough, talk about your problems and will most likely be fine.
