Year 10

The Two-Year GCSE course follows the Key Stage 4 curriculum and offers a broad range of subjects.

Pupils are advised to think about breadth of study although this may not always be appropriate or achievable. Throughout the course the pupils will also be prepared for Sixth Form (A Level) study.

The small class sizes and the high level of individual care offered by the school makes this an excellent choice for pupils for whom English is their first language and who would benefit from the increased level of attention. The course is also tailored to international pupils who wish to improve their English whilst following a traditional programme of academic subjects.

Two-Year GCSE pupils study Mathematics, English and one Science as their core curriculum. Pupils can then take five additional subjects. Where the EAL need is great, the number of subject options are reduced to facilitate the additional English language support.

The structure of the curriculum in 2023-2025 is as follows:

“My grades have improved due to the different learning methods I have picked up here. The teachers have actively helped me to improve these. I really enjoy the activities, even if we are not so good the teachers really encourage us and help us to improve. I would say the small class sizes are one of my favourite things; it has really made the classes enjoyable for me.”
Marcus, Hong Kong
“Business Studies is my favourite subject because it is an enjoyable subject and I like my class, it has been fun learning it. I like the family-feel Mill Hill International has – you can have very frank discussions with staff and teachers. The fact it is a small school community also means you can get to know everyone quite well, even in different year groups.”
